10th April 2022 Moving on to Pindari
Up early

Relaxed packing up.
Took the Limestone Road to Ashford.
Put it in the car and drove on until we crossed a flowing creek to put him in
Stopped off in Ashford again and called into the store there. New owners are from Maleny, they bought it on line and only moved there last October

They have certainly done a good job of making it look inviting

Bumped into Anthony that we had chatted to at Lemon Tree Flat campground!!!
Our first sight of the dam was water over the spillway
Then the massive dam wall

Once we got around the dam wall we followed the signs to the camping area. We found quite a few people there and pulled in to what we thought was the only spot available for us to pull in, which turned out to be a great spot anyway, but we found out later that there were other spots higher up and also down by the water.
We cooked up a late lunch of Tikka Masala, after having set up, and then utilised the table and shelter next to the van, to eat it, with great views of the lake

Whilst we were eating our lunch there were swallows flying in and out of the shelter
We went on a bit of a discovery walk in the afternoon to check out the area. Found some steps down to a track that went along the waters edge

With great views across the lake
This track ended up at the boat ramp. So we walked back up the road from there and found the other camping area up on the top of the hill.
There were so many magnificent views of the lake from our walk and from our camp site that I just kept taking photos

After we got back to our camp site we sat and enjoyed the view and watched and listened to the birds flying around

Later, at sunset I walked down to the waters edge to catch the sunset
And chatted to the couple who were camped right on the waters edge. They had come from Maclean and had brought a whole lot of pumpkins with them so they gave me one!!!
They certainly had a prime camp spot, especially to watch the sunset

I thought this was magnificent at the time but then as the evening wore on it became even more spectacular

End of an another enjoyable day on our holiday.

No nice sunrise as clouded over
Quite chilly, enough to put on tracky dacks and jumper
Reorganised the fridge to put the fruit in as the chiller box has been drawing too much precious power and we now have space in the fridge.
Peaceful breakfast by the river
Relaxed packing up.
Waved farewell to the bikers
Chatted to the neighbours in their Swift van. They were from Karana Downs and were planning to spend a week camping there but were concerned about being under dead tree branches. After looking around they found a suitable area to move to.
On our way we found a suitable spot on the roadside to empty our effluent
Took the Limestone Road to Ashford.
Came across a turtle in the middle of the road, so stopped to rescue it
Put it in the car and drove on until we crossed a flowing creek to put him in

Spent a bit of time there, posting on FB and posting the blog before refuelling at the Servo there and heading out of town to Pindari Dam only 25 kms away
Excellent Road

We chatted to a couple that were camped up there in their van that they tow with a massive Iveco that had been modified to carry a boat on it.
